User roles
This chapter explains the different user roles in DataMesh Inspector, their corresponding application clients, and the core functionalities available to each role. It helps readers understand their role and the scope of use before diving into the operation chapters.
User roles overview
DataMesh Inspector is designed for three types of operations personnel, each with distinct responsibilities within the system:
Operations Director
Primarily uses the system from a management and decision-making perspective. Focuses on overall operational status and key metrics, and generally does not handle specific alerts.
Operations Manager
The role is mainly responsible for system management and coordination. Oversee monitoring, alert assessment, and on-site dispatch.
Frontline Operations Personnel
Primarily use the system on-site, responsible for device inspection and issue resolution.
Application client and role mapping
Each user role accesses different applications to perform their tasks:

Use of scope
- Operations Director primarily performs viewing and analysis tasks.
- Operations Manager and Frontline Operations Personnel work together to close the loop on alert handling and on-site operations.
- The mobile app in the current version does not provide an independent 3D scene homepage or data dashboard.
- The range of supported functionalities may change with future version updates.

To facilitate a quick understanding and efficient use of the system, it is recommended that users follow the reading path based on their role:
- Operations Director: Focus on Chapter 4, especially the sections related to scene viewing and the data dashboard.
- Operations Manager: Read all of Chapter 4.
